The Adventures of Michel and Santeena - Week 11

The Adventures of Michel and Santeena...a tale of Co-op work at Tri-County Copiers Plus - Xerox

Welcome back to our weekly blog! This week we worked on designing and polishing off our industry research flyer, and learning more about Xerox WorkFlow solutions. The flyer will be used to get people excited and informed about why they should be participating in our research project. We also had the opportunity to learn about Xerox workflow solutions firsthand by downloading every app and testing them out.

Santeena's Experience Creating the Flyer

Creating a flyer requires constant editing, taking in opinions and having all the necessary information to input. It took a couple takes to come up with the final product. I used a website that I was familiar with using during school and being on the Odette Gala Marketing Team. We used the website www.canva.com; which is extremely straightforward and easy to use for everyone! It gives businesses a quick look to what we are advertising.

The flyer detials how we are University of Windsor students, completing a co-op term with Tri-County Copiers conducting industry research. Of course, whoever participates has the chance to win a free a gift card for their office at Bubi's!

As we have mentioned before, we are focusing on targeting specific businesses. An important task is completing the "Qualification Round". The criteria includes:
  • 3-10 employees
  • Use 5000 sheets of paper or more per month

Qualifying these businesses is useful because those who use more paper are likely to have changed their equipment more often. A business who only uses a ream or two of paper per month will have mostly likely had their equipment for a long time, and only have basic needs. Our solutions are designed for businesses who operate at a higher volume, and demand a more robust solution offering simple answers to complex requirements.

Word of the Week

Workflow

This week we were assigned to a new project, learning all about Xerox's workflow solutions. The first step was to create an App Gallery account, and connect it with our Xerox device. We did this by requesting an account from our device, and sending the request to our emails. We had to fill in some information about our device, including the login credentials. Now our accounts were in sync with our device, and we began downloading every app from Xerox's App Gallery.

After installing the apps on our device, we started going through them one by one. We wanted to learn how they work, and what new features they bring to our device. An example is the Easy Translate app, which gives you the ability to translate any document instantly to any of their 32 languages. The app can be used for businesses that thrive on globalism, and need to communicate with people who read and speak another language.

The goal of this project is for us to be able to explain to our coworkers and or customers, how to use each app when they download them. Customers are constantly looking for new ways to make their workflow easier. The App Gallery allows businesses to print or scan using Google Drive, Office 365, Dropbox, OneDrive and more! Within seconds, the document being printed or scanned from the device will be sent directly to your email. An awesome feature is mobile printing! Whether you're in the office or out of the office, a quick "print or scan" to the device will be completed.
